Recording is recorded as a "take" on Vienna ensemble server

Posted

Do I use the Vienna Ensemble pro server, then for example a recording on midi port 1 and on channel 2 , then the recording is displayed as a take?
What( can ) prevent Synfire from doing figure recognition here?

Seems that it has  something to with the Vienna VSL plug ins: sychron sample player ?
This one (synchron sample player )  gives static notes at recording, but other Vstplug ins  they give normal figure recognition with the  processed symbols.
Tested in Synfire itself (not Vienna ensemble pro server)

Can someone confirm my issue of recording as a take with the Synchron sample player?
Both setups have this problem.
- local in Synfire
- On Vienna ensemble server

Recording always goes into the Take parameter as absolute pitches. Figure recognition turns it into a figure after that.

Yes, I know that, but why is the take not converted into a figure?
After recording, the take remains....?

The take always remains, you can edit it, group notes and otherwise mess with it and try out different types of figure recognitions.

I am concerned with the start figure recognition choice when a take is recorded.
In the case of the vienna synchron sample player, the figure recognition was set to static input for harmonizer.
Is not clear to me who set that?
What should I set as figure recognition if I do not want static input for harmonizer...press the auto button then?
I had the impression that my keyboard play is translated into figures automatically detected by synfire in the AI algorithm which does seem obvious to me.

I think the Figure regocnition of my keyboard play is not working for other VSt as well
There is something wrong?
Has it to do with the cheap midi keyboard controller i am using now.?
Let me check this with the pro keyboard ..

No matter which keyboard I use
also the pro keyboard takes static input from the Vienna Synchron player.
When importing a midi file, a correct figure recognition is automatically established, but that does not happen now when recording from a keyboard.

Just watched the tutorial video "recording" and attached an animation of the Synchron sample player with the smart orchestra library and free sounds library loaded with the two other vst as well (Halion and Padshop pro).
Halion and Padshop pro vst give good figure recognition, but 2 synchron sample players do not with the smart orchestra library and the free sounds library.

You can auto-detect the FR settings once. Synfire remembers those for subsequent runs.

Tell me why the two plugins : Halion and Padshop  give no problem with the figure recognition when  playing midi keyboard, while the Vienna Sample player with two libraries give wrong figures ? ( see gif animation )
What do i miss here ?

Well, i thought that Synfire FR (figure recognition) automatically converts my midi keyboard playing to a figure
That seems to be not the case.
For some reason the preset for FR was set as : Input for Harmonizer ( static ).
Ok, then i record all my takes as static symbols ( by default)  and run afterwards the FR for "Auto"

Yes, that could be, because the synchron sample player with the smart orchestra library has 2 input areas for the keyboard : orchestral + solo  and percussion can be also seperated on a keyboard range.
The only way is then keep a eye on the keyboard ranges, because there are more then one instruments involved  with the smart orchestra library and set it on static input as first FR and do a second FR set on "auto" after the recording.
