Synfire 1.6.6

synfire.pngA new update is available for download now. This is a maintenance release with a lot of minor but very helpful fixes. We've integrated many suggested changes, thanks to your feedback! The most important changes include:

Synfire Pro 1.6.4

synfireimport.pngThe new update comes with a much improved MIDI file import: Now you can batch-import a library, reading all files in a directory (Pro). This is especially useful for importing drums or other phrases for a particular single instrument.

We also fixed a number of bugs and improved the interactive behavior of the Harmonizer, to make it more intutive.

Synfire Pro 1.6

synfire.pngThis update is another step forward. Some new feature enhancements and many bug fixes are included. We feel the software has reached a milestone now. In order to keep the ball rolling, we will now focus on communication for a while. You will see more videos and examples soon. We will also look how to better support new users with getting familiar more quickly with Synfire. This fall we will finally start promoting Synfire actively.

Great Things To Come

thumb.png In case you wonder why we paused making new videos for a while, this is why: We are nearing completion of the next Synfire Pro update, which will be a big step towards a more integrated, simplified and intuitive user interface. We integrated the progression editor, harmonizer and a simple mixer console right into the arrange window. Although not a pure single-window layout, the most frequently used features are now easily accessible from within the arrange view, keeping your desktop and head clear.

Synfire Pro Update 1.5.13

tools.jpgThis is mainly a maintenance release with a number of bug fixes, MIDI export and user interface optimizations. If you are a Logic user, some very important fixes will make your life easier. We recommend updating at your earliest convenience.

Synfire Pro 1.5.12 Update

The new update is online. The complete list of changes is here:

http://www.cognitone.com/developers/article.stml?o=119

The most important changes are:

Merge & Split Phrases

Select multiple phrases (instruments,"tracks") and do Phrase>>Merge. That will combine their figures and other parameters into a single phrase. Phrase>>Split does the opposite. Great for working on complex figures where many symbols would cover each other. Of course, all phrases are required to use the same sound, or the command will be grayed out.

Our YouTube Channel

cogtitle.pngYou may already have noticed that Cognitone opened a YouTube channel (see sidebar to the right). It took some time to get the production pipeline and tools set up properly, but now that everything is in place, we expect to get a lot more videos online soon.
